But before that you must remember is that the process of making a cartoon photo (kartunisasi photo) is an activity that requires patience and time. However, the results will be very satisfying indeed.
Is still keen to give it a try?
Well then, let's get started ...
In this tutorial we will use a photo of Rihanna.
This is the original photo
And this is the end result of this tutorial later
First of all, download the first real photo of Rihanna here .
Step 1: Prepare the 'canvas work'
In choosing photos to be dikartunkan, choose sharp photos (focus) and a detailed face clearly visible. Photos are blurry, somewhat blurry, or that tend to be dark, not a good choice. The larger the image resolution is getting better.
Change the name of the new layer they will be 'original'. (To rename a layer, right click on the layer name and choose Layer Properties).
Layer 'original' we used to 'store' the original image, so that if at any time it takes the original image is still there.
5. Make a new layer. Change the name to 'background'. We will use this layer as the background color for our cartoon photo. Fill this layer with orange color using the Paint Bucket tool.
6. Move this layer to the bottom.
Up to this stage the layers we look as follows:
Step 2: Eliminate The Unwanted Images
Separate object that wants dikartunkan of background images. Erase the parts that do not want dikartunkan photo. Use the Pen tool for this purpose. If you do not already know how to use the Pen tool to select the object image, maybe you should check out this tutorial Melissa Clifton .
With the Pen tool, draw a path around the object (in this example is Rihanna), change the path they will be a selection (keys: ctrl + Enter), inverse selection TSB (keys: ctrl + shift + i), remove (key: del) , then remove the line selection (keys: ctrl + D).
Note: Actually you can also use the Eraser tool, Magic Eraser, Background Eraser or for this purpose (which it will be much faster), but the results will not look neat.
Step 3: Make a 'Outline' Object Image
The next step is to make the 'outline' the object of our images.
Change the layer name to 'outline'.
2. Menu: Image :: Adjustments :: Shadow / Highlights ... Click the OK button.
This step should not do. But often these steps will make the outline we will become sharper.
4. Modify picture into an outline using the Photocopy filter.
Set 'Details' to 3.
Set 'Darkness' to 8.
Click the 'OK'
Experiment with setting the 'Details' this. The result we want is an outline drawing of Rihanna looks detailed but not to cause the outline looks 'dirty' full black spot.
5. outline Change lines become solid black line.
menu: Image :: :: Threshold Adjustments ...
Click the OK button when you are satisfied with the results SDH.
Well, we've got the outline of what we expect.
Until at this stage, this is the result we get ..
Next we will add the shading for the image to be seen to have 'depth', and subsequently to the coloring stage.
